- Technical reports on the mixing, testing, and applications of modified asphalts
- Information for improving asphalt properties and performance in transportation
- Special section on balanced mix designs in U.S. states
- New test methods for mixes, cracking, rheology
This annual serial contains 31 research reports on advances in asphalt technology, including asphalt mixes, test methods and pavement performance. Tests investigate the long-term behavior of asphalt and asphalt mixes, as well as shear and rheological properties. Lab tests, along with new models, are correlated with empirical data from in-service asphalts. Different mixtures containing re-refined engine oil bottoms (REOB) and glass geogrid binders are analyzed. A special feature of this volume is an extensive discussion of the manufacture and application of balanced mix designs, which are being developed to better conform to state government specifications. The analysis includes information from contractors and transportation specialists from Texas, Louisiana, Illinois and New Jersey.
